This Privacy Notice explains how TIEST PTE.LTD. ("TIEST", "we", "us"), the operator of the UNIINCN service, collects, uses, and protects personal data. TIEST acts as the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Service.
1. Categories of personal data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, login credentials, language preference.
- Profile and learning data: study progress, practice answers, quiz results, scholarship questionnaire responses.
- Support communications: messages you send to us through email, chat, or social channels.
- Usage and device data: pages visited, features used, IP address, browser and device identifiers, approximate location, error logs.
- Payment-related data: order and subscription status, country, and the last 4 digits of the card or wallet identifier as forwarded to us by our payment processor. Full payment details are collected and stored directly by Stripe, not by us.
2. How we use personal data
- To create and maintain your account and provide the Service (contract performance).
- To process subscriptions, invoicing, tax, and refunds via our Merchant of Record (contract performance / legal obligation).
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests (legitimate interests / contract).
- To secure the Service and prevent fraud or abuse (legitimate interests / legal obligation).
- To improve the Service, debug issues, and develop new features (legitimate interests).
- To send service announcements and, where you have opted in, marketing communications (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
3. Sharing personal data
We share personal data only with:
- Stripe, Inc., our payment processor, for processing card payments, subscription management, invoicing, fraud prevention, and tax calculation. See Stripe's privacy policy.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers who store and serve our application and database under contractual data-protection terms.
- Authentication, email, and analytics providers that support sign-in, transactional messages, and aggregated usage reporting.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where strictly necessary.
- Authorities or third parties where required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
We do not sell personal data.
4. International transfers
Our service providers may process personal data outside your country of residence, including in jurisdictions that do not provide the same level of data protection. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
5. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal and accounting obligations, or resolve disputes. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the UK / EEA also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, role-based access controls, and continuous monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
